Recently my iPhone’s brightness has been changing by itself.
It was really annoying as it was virtually in darkness one minute then way too bright the next.
If your iPhone brightness automatically goes up by itself, then an auto setting has been turned on (but not necessarily by you!).
Changing the brightness manually will not resolve the issue. Find out how to stop this happening and change the iPhone brightness settings below.
How to turn off iPhone auto brightness
Follow these steps to turn off the auto brightness feature on your iPhone (it’s not where you would think it is!).
- Go to Settings
- Then General
- Choose Accessibility
- Then Display Accommodations
- Make sure Auto-Brightness is toggled to Off
There you have it, your iPhone’s brightness will stay the way you set without changing by itself.
I originally thought the setting would be in the Display & Brightness section of the iPhone but it isn’t.
If you want to quickly change your screen brightness, follow these instructions:
- Unlock your iPhone
- Swipe up from the homescreen
- Move the slider of the brightness icon* up or down to desired brightness (*circled in red)
Here is a screenshot of which function to change:
I hope this helps to stop your iPhone’s brightness changing by itself!
