There are some really good things to do in Liverpool which are suitable for all the family. Below you will find some examples of what we went to see and our recommendations.

Firstly, our favourite area of Liverpool has to be the Waterfront, Pier Head and Albert Dock. It is a very modern area alongside the River Mersey with very nice restaurants, bars and cafe’s with some fantastic looking buildings.

Albert Dock Liverpool

A really great totally free place to visit for all the family is the Liverpool Museum. You can find many historical displays and features inside the museum, a cafe, souvenir shop and even a theatre. It is open 10am-5pm daily and is well worth a visit.

Near to the Albert Dock area is the Liverpool Wheel and Beatles Story attractions. The wheel is good value for money and you go round quite a few times and can see right across the skyline.

The Beatles Story is a must for Beatles and music fans alike as it tells you the story of how the band formed, became famous and includes some great photograph and artwork.

There are family tickets available which saves you a few quid off the price too. You can book tickets online at their website.

The Cavern Club LiverpoolOne of the best places to visit in Liverpool for pubs is Mathew Street where the Cavern Club is, the place where the Beatles played their music.

The Cavern Club Liverpool is one of the most famous clubs in the world and allows children to enter up to about 9pm.

When we went to the Cavern Club there were live bands playing and the atmosphere was great, definitely visit the Cavern Club.

There is also a Cavern Pub opposite.

Liverpool has a very good shopping centre and a massive John Lewis. The shopping arcades have the usual high street name shops plus other top-notch fashion outlets.

If you like shopping, you won’t be disappointed with Liverpool.

Parking in Liverpool is very easy and affordable. We parked in the 24 hour Q-Park (Liverpool One) underground car park, adjacent to the Albert Dock area and it cost approximately £30 for near enough full three days.

You can park, leave your car there and then just pay when you leave. The location is spot on. Bang in the centre of all of the best things to do in Liverpool.

Staying overnight in Liverpool we recommend the Premier Inn Liverpool* which is also located on the Albert Dock opposite the Liverpool Wheel and literally next to the Beatles Story attraction. The rooms are really nice, clean, comfy beds, helpful and friendly staff, great food and happy hour is 6pm-8pm, buy one get one free.

The breakfast is worth paying for as it is a buffet style and eat as much as you like. You can purchase a meal deal if you want to eat an evening meal and you are ordering breakfast. You get breakfast, two course evening meal (starter and main or main and dessert) and a free drink for £23. It is a good deal.

We used UK* to book our rooms and we didn’t have to pay until we arrived.
