Prime Minister Boris Johnson Orders Three-Week Lockdown

Tonight Boris Johnson addresses the nation and details that we can only leave the house for food, one form of exercise, go to and from work and go out for medicine.  Other restrictions include no more than two people together outside at one time and crowds will be dispersed by Police.

New Virus called Coronavirus COVID-19 Spreading Throughout the World

A new virus illness called Coronavirus which started late 2019 is causing severe disruption around the world with the number of confirmed cases rising in the UK.

It is a respiratory disease affecting the lungs although the reports are that most people will only suffer from mild symptoms but some will require hospital treatment.

Update for 20st March - All pubs, restaurants, gyms, leisure centres, cinemas and theatres told to now close due to the virus to protect people.  UK is entering lockdown to try and reduce the risk of further infection.

Today, 6th February 2020, Christina Koch has completed the longest-ever single spaceflight by a woman.

Christina spent 328 days on the (ISS) International Space Station.  Congratulations!

There will be a transition period until the end of 2020 so that the UK and EU can make further arrangements.

Kobe Bryant Basketball Legend & Daughter Killed in Helicopter Crash

News has emerged of the tragic deaths of basketball legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianni, aged 13, in a helicopter crash in California.

Millions share their sympathy and condolences online including many famous people.
